Tengku Amir’s SAY organisation to empower S’gor youths
KLANG: Youths in Selangor can look forward to various empowerment and self-improvement programmes which will be made available through the newlyformed Selangor Youth Community (SAY).
SAY, the brainchild of Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah, is a vehicle to engage Selangor’s youths and pave them a path to achieve excellence in areas of their choice.
It will also give youths opportunities to actively participate in philanthropic activities geared towards giving the marginalised and needy a helping hand.
The organisation is expected to gain momentum after Tengku Amir’s official proclamation as Raja Muda at the Istana Alam Shah here today.
The 26-year-old Raja Muda will take his oath in the Selangor royal court witnessed by his father Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, members of the royal family, state and palace dignitaries and invited guests.
Tengku Amir is SAY’s executive president and will conceptualise the initiatives undertaken by the youth community.
SAY chief executive officer Izhar Moslim said the organisation would continue to be a top priority for the Raja Muda after the proclamation.
SAY volunteer Theeban Param, 24, a yacht broker, said the movement was a major integration platform for youths from all socio-economic, educational, religious and ethnic backgrounds.
“Youths in the state are in need of good leadership and Tuanku Raja Muda is the right person to helm that role with his clear-cut vision and mission for us,” said Theeban.
