Winner: My business can go further

- By NURBAITI HAMDAN nurbaiti@thestar.com.my KUALA LUMPUR:

Dreams can come true and for Normah Mohd Jais, it is winning the Isuzu D-Max pick-up truck from the Perfect Livin ’16 exhibition.

The former system analyst, who now runs her own breast screening business, said she had always wanted a truck to transport her equipment.

“Now I can just dump the machines and the foldable bed at the back of the truck instead of struggling to fit everything in my MPV,” she said.

Normah, 52, is the second winner of Twin Treasures 2016 What’s Your Hunch Contest organised by i.Star Ideas Factory.

She won the Isuzu D-Max Double Cab V-Cross Safari 3.0l 4x4 worth more than RM100,000.

The mother of four could not believe her luck when she received a phone call from i.Star Ideas Factory director Jason Yap.

“I was teaching my youngest son for his exams next week when I received the unexpected call. Yap said he was making the call from inside the truck that I have won.

“He told me to scream and I just followed his instruction because I didn’t quite believe it,” Normah said with a laugh.

Later, Normah told her husband who was sceptical and warned her it could probably be a scam.

The concern was put to rest when she and her family saw the truck on display at the Putra World Trade Centre here yesterday.

“I still feel like I’m dreaming,” Normah said.

On Saturday, 35-year-old data management specialist Chen Siew Haan was named the first winner of the Twin Treasures contest.

An Isuzu MU-X SUV worth RM173,460 is also up for grabs for qualifying contestants if they take a creative picture of themselves with the car.

The winner of the SUV will be announced in January.
