> First Malaysian Cardinal

Historic News. Catholics are proud to have a Malaysian in the second highest rank at the Holy See. Thank you, Pope Francis. – P. J. Gomes

> Hills destroyed

The beautiful limestone hills in Ipoh, especially the parts that cannot be seen from the North-South Expressway, have been raped by quarry companies. Please do something to save Nature.

> Think of pensioners

Please remember the poor pensioners in the yearly Budget and not only during election time.

> Faulty numbers

Retirement age is 60 but many above the age of 55 are retrenched. They find it very hard to get another suitable job and give up. So our jobless rate based on active job seekers is faulty! Malaysia does not have a central unemployment registration system so how does the Statistics Department know the jobless rate? There are many above 50 who are unemployed!

> Kudos to police

Well done PDRM for nabbing the would-be militants and making our homeland safer. Keep up the good work and thank you!

> Not up to the mark

The medical service at Hospital Angkatan Tentera Lumut Naval Base is not up to the mark. I was surprised to see men and women patients placed in the same ward, side by side. – Subra

> Capable voters

Most voters in the general election will choose candidates who are capable, reliable and can help to solve the rakyat’s problems efficiently in the constituency. Do not portray male voters as wolves in disguise who can be charmed by beautiful, sexy, young female candidates. – C. T. Tan

> Ban Pokemon GO

The Pokemon GO game should be completely banned. Many people are wasting their precious time searching for the cyber monsters. Some are even doing it while driving. – K. Chandran

> Spoiled showers

The showers at Kelana Jaya Swimming Pool are not working. Please repair them. Thank you.

> Brownish tap water

What is happening to the tap water in Tanjong Malim? After just one hour of heavy rain over two days (Monday and Wednesday), the tap water turned brownish. Hope there’s no logging or development projects near the water source. - CKTan, Tanjong Malim

> Relocate night market

Night market near Section 8, Bandar Mahkota Cheras, on Saturdays should be relocated to another proper site. Shoppers, mainly foreigners, throw garbage everywhere. Why can’t the council provide garbage bins and its workers wait until the early hours of the morning to clean up? We are fed up with the stench, road closure and the pests including crows, cockroaches and rats running around. – Resident
