Car show gets into full swing

Visitors throng mall for latest vehicle deals

PETALING JAYA: The CarSifu Auto Show 2016 is picking up steam with more visitors dropping in to inquire about the latest cars in the market and promotiona­l deals.

“I knew about the car show from The Star newspaper, that’s why I’m down here with my family to have a look,” said 56-year-old retiree Tan Hooi Jun, who came with his wife Siew Luan and daughter Sue May.

“Other than a Volvo, I was also looking at Mazda and Citroen. It’s just very convenient because I get to see many cars in one location,” added Tan.

The five-day event, ending on Sunday, is being held at the Highstreet concourse area of the 1 Utama Shopping Centre here.

More than 30 vehicles from brands such as Chevrolet, Citroen, Honda, Isuzu, Kia, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Peugeot, Perodua, Proton, Renault, Volvo and Volkswagen are being displayed.

Those who book their vehicles during the show are automatica­lly eligible for the Book and Win contest and be in the running to win 10 television units – two 58in Full HD and eight 50in UHD.

They will also stand a chance to win a pair of AirAsia return tickets each to Sapporo, Japan; Hong Kong; Bali, Indonesia; Da Nang, Vietnam; and Luang Prabang, Laos.

Meanwhile, Naza Kia Malaysia is offering a zero interest rate or a three-year free service package for selected models.

During the show, visitors can participat­e in fun quizzes and win perfume cards, drawstring bags, luggage tags, umbrellas, key chains, road tax stickers, non-woven bags, backpacks and car-branded badges.

Visitors can also enter the CarSifu Snap & Win contest where they can present creative selfies taken at the show and win prizes.

Newly-weds Poey Shao Hui, 27, and Beatrice Lee were at Proton’s booth, looking at a Persona model as a possible upgrade.

“I currently drive a Hyundai i10 and am thinking about upgrading to a bigger car, so I’m just having a look around for the time being,” he said.

Datin Zaiton Ishak, 58, who came with her 14-year-old son Zahari, was thinking of changing to a new a car.

“It’s good to have these promotions at a shopping mall, because not only can you enjoy the variety of cars, but you can also have a look at them in good comfort and then go shopping after that,” said the housewife.
