Stepdad held for attempted rape

Wife finally lodges police report after third incident

-

A STEPFATHER fondled his 20-yearold stepdaughter’s breasts before dragging her to a bedroom to try to rape her when her mother was away, Sin Chew Daily reported.

Apparently, this was not the first time this has happened to the girl.

The incident on Tuesday morning was the third time the man had tried to rape his stepdaughter at their house in Bintulu, Sarawak. He married the girl’s mother 12 years ago.

In the previous incidents, the victim’s mother opted not to lodge police reports because she reasoned that her husband had not raped the girl.

She felt that stern warnings to her husband was enough that he would not repeat his actions.

In the latest incident, the girl ran to a relative’s house nearby for help.

After being advised by relatives, the mother finally agreed to lodge a police report and the man was arrested at about 1am on Wednesday.

He was held for outraging the girl’s modesty.

> A 107-year-old woman, the oldest applicant to get Malaysian citizenship, has died.

China Press reported that Huang Jin Lian died on Sunday.

She had always wanted to visit China after receiving her blue My Kad on May 12, but could not because she fell down recently and was in poor health.

Huang was born in 1909 in China and had come to Malaysia with her husband and two sons in 1955.

She and her second son did not get citizenship after the country gained independence. She had to wait 60 years to realise that goal.

Huang had appealed many times throughout the years but her application was not approved because she couldn’t speak Bahasa Malaysia fluently.
