MyPrihatin calls for kind hearts
Malaysians can help those like twins Alimi and Azizi lead normal lives
KUALA LUMPUR: For two years, twins Muhammad Alimi Aliff and Muhmmad Azizi Aliff, 10, risked fainting at school due to holes in their hearts.
When they were eight, the boys from Langkawi could only attend classes for two to three hours before they had to go home.
“Their parents found out their sons’ condition when they were two but could only afford to send them for follow-ups at the hospital until they were six,” said MyPrihatin chief executive officer Rahimi Abdul Karim.
When they were eight they began having fainting spells but their parents could not afford to send them for treatment. The boys’ father works as a fisherman.
After being informed about their parents’ plight, MyPrihatin stepped in to help.
Azizi and Alimi underwent surgery in August and October and had since recovered.
“They can now attend the full school session and can play football with their friends. We are very happy for them,” Rahimi said.
Rahimi was relating the twins’ story at the National Sports Council during a charity football match on Saturday. It was organised by Kelab Anak Perantauan Rompin (Kelar) to generate funds for MyPrihatin’s #seringgitsejutaharpan campaign.
Formed in April last year, MyPrihatin aims to help financially needy children with heart problems to undergo treatment at the National Heart Institue (IJN).
“We have a partnership with IJN where they bear the cost of treatment and surgery while we on the other hand cover the cost of transportation to Kuala Lumpur, accommodation and allowance.”
Rahimi said 750 kids benefited from MyPrihatin’s assistance thus far.
Kelar chairman Mohd Herman Awang said they aimed to raise RM10,000 for the campaign through friendly football matches featuring artistes such as Jepp Sepathu,Rahim Sepathu, Tomok, Sharol Shiro, Hattan and Super Lawak FC against Perantauan Anak Pahang.

The campaign will be launched at Putrajaya International Convention Centre on Dec 4.
