PTPTN announces discount plan for 137,609 to settle loans

A TOTAL of 137,609 National Higher Education Fund Corporatio­n (PTPTN) borrowers got discounts totalling RM12mil via a measure announced in Budget 2017, BH Ahad reported.

The corporatio­n’s chairman Datuk Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah said PTPTN introduced a scheme to offer the discounts since Oct 22.

Borrowers who make full settlement­s of their loans will get a 15% discount, while 10% will be given to borrowers who agree to monthly salary deductions.

“Those who make payments to settle at least 50% of the loans will also get to enjoy a 10% discount,” Shamsul said at PTPTN’s Customer Day event in Kuala Lumpur.

Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the campaign was being conducted to prevent a breakout of malaria cases as reported at Pos Kemar settlement in Perak.

“We have not received a full report yet from the Health Ministry but I have already taken up this matter to the Cabinet,” Ismail Sabri said after opening a GiatMara Skills carnival in Bera, Pahang.

The relationsh­ip between the 26-year-old actress and Lutfi Azhar, 30, has been much talked about ever since their photograph­s appeared on Instagram, BH Ahad reported.

“Lutfi is the special man who made me fall in love. Although we come from different background­s, we are of one mind,” said Siti Saleha who is of Malay-English parentage.

Lutfi said that he was unaware about the identity of Siti Saleha, who made her name in the drama Nora Elena, when he first met her.

“When she told me she was an actress, I started to search for her name in Google. I had not expected to meet a popular actress,” he said.

He said he popped the question to Siti Saleha during a trip to Cancun, Mexico, in July last year.
