KUALA LUMPUR: The Big Blue taxi company which will be providing e-hailing services will start an e-ticketing system from Jan 1.

Big Blue Capital (M) Sdn Bhd adviser Datuk Shamsubahrin Ismail said through e-ticketing services, customers will only be charged a flat rate even during traffic jam.

“Those who book rides through the e-ticketing services will not be charged according to the meter,” he said yesterday.

He said customers with e-tickets could request drivers to pick them up at the same point hours later at no extra cost.

“It will also be more cost effective to book services via e-ticketing,” he said.

Under the e-ticketing system, customers are automatically insured and their personal safety assured, he said.

Big Blue has forged collaboration with Cab Auto Bus’ 2Go to expand the pool of taxis.

“Big Blue will assist red budget cabs, TEKS1M, and others that are interested in the e-application.

“We are the first company in Malaysia to take up the challenge to support SPAD’s Land Public Transport Commission’s transformation plan to transform the taxi services industry.

“It is high time taxi drivers wake up, stop whining about unfair competition, and start taking charge. And do our best to provide the best service for the customers.

“We no longer want to engage in a price war with our rivals including unlicenced service providers,” he said.

Big Blue currently operates from KLCC and Publika and plans to expand its operation to cover KLIA, Malacca and beyond.

“We are also collaborating with Matrade to take our e-services further,” he said.
