KUALA LUMPUR: Mystery surrounds the murder of a 65-year-old businessman whose body was found at a condominium in Persiaran KIP Utama, Kepong here.

The man – who owned a Chinese traditional medicine shop in Taman Wangsa Permai – was discovered with a noose around his neck on the fire escape at the seventh floor on Friday evening.

Except for his mobile phone, all his possessions including his wallet and motorcycle keys were still on him.

Apparently, a piece of paper was in his hand, with the address of a condominium unit on the seventh floor. It is uncertain what the address was for or referred to.

Though fully-clothed, semen stains were found on his underwear – leading police to believe that he could have been engaged in other “activities” prior to his murder.

Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Ali Ahmad said police were investigating the sequence of events leading to the murder, but declined to divulge information on the stains.

“It’s not normal, but we are still in the midst of investigations.

“Maybe other incidents, other activities, happened before his death. We don’t know yet,” he said.

ACP Ali said the deceased was at his shop when he received a call from a mysterious person on Friday afternoon.

“His son said the victim had received a call from a man and they spoke in Bahasa Malaysia over something he had no knowledge of.

“The victim left the store on his motorcycle at 1.20pm after hanging up. He did not say where he was going.”

ACP Ali said the son tried calling his father on his mobile phone at 2.25pm but it was switched off.

There was no further contact with the victim until a resident discovered his body lying on the fire escape at about 4.30pm.

The post-mortem at Hospital Sungai Buloh showed that he died from suffocation.

The deceased leaves behind a wife, son and two daughters.

His 64-year-old brother described him as a “very nice person” with no axe to grind with anyone.
