DAP will have control if Pakatan wins, says Najib

BALING: The “flower party” cannot hope to rule the government if the Opposition takes over because DAP would have most of the seats in Parliament, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

“Democracy and politics are a game of numbers. Who has the most seats, wins.

“Even if the top post of the government is not given to it, the party with the most seats will effectively rule.

“I watch the pieces of the game and see that if the opposition wins, DAP will rule.

“Not PKR, not Amanah and not the flower party,” he said, referring to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Pribumi), which uses a flower as its party logo.

Speaking to over 23,000 people who gathered in Kuala Ketil to meet him yesterday, Najib asked Kedahans to think of the implications of DAP winning.

Also present were Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah, Education Minister and Padang Terap MP Datuk Seri Mahadzir Khalid and Baling MP Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim.

Najib also expressed his exasperation over Pakatan Harapan leaders for being “consistently inconsistent” on several public issues.

Time and again, he said, its leaders contradicted each other.

Among others, he singled out Pribumi chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his son Datuk Seri Mukhriz, who is deputy president.

“The father criticises the 1MDB haj programme while his son – our boy-boy – helped to send over 20 Kedahans on a pilgrimage under the programme when he was (Kedah) mentri besar.

“Dr Mahathir denounced BR1M as bribes and then made a U-turn when people criticised him.

“The whole time, the flower party’s website has a section to help people register for BR1M. Who is leading the party?” Najib asked.

He added that a political party built on the foundation of the vengeance, disappointment or family interests of its founders cannot hope to last.

Najib also gave an ambulance, three school buses to ferry poor children to school and numerous awards and donations from the Baling Umno division.
