A life that was lost needlessly

-

OUR hearts go out to the woman who lost her life while pursuing a snatch thief who had taken her handbag.

The 54-year-old woman was riding to her workplace after dropping off her daughter at school when the thief snatched the handbag from her motorcycle basket.

She gave chase but lost control of her machine and crashed into an electric pole, succumbing to severe head injuries at the scene.

Many who read the news might have felt that the woman should not have chased the thief.

She would have been alive and well now except that she would have lost some of her belongings.

But these are difficult times and the mother of six children could have been carrying some cash to pay her utility bills.

Perhaps she was just fed up with these snatch thieves getting away scot free.

A life has been snuffed out and six children have lost their mother. Police need to beef up their surveillance and have regular spot checks on motorcyclists.

The snatch thieves involved should be punished severely. SAMUEL YESUIAH Seremban
