Official-looking document hand-delivered to embassy
KUALA LUMPUR: The North Korean Embassy in Malaysia has received a hand-delivered document, with a stamp from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spotted on the envelope.
A man, in casual clothes, sent the document over and was received by the embassy’s officials.
Earlier, an official had urged pressmen not to block the gates.
“We are expecting a document, so please keep the area clear,” said Kim Yu-song, the official.
Moments later, the man showed up and handed over the document.
On Friday, embassy officials said it had not received any official document seeking its cooperation to interview its citizens in connection with Kim Jong-nam’s murder.
Police have identified Hyon Kwang-song, believed to be the second secretary at the North Korean embassy in Malaysia, and Kim Uk-il, an Air Koryo employee, as persons of interest in the case.
Both men are believed to be hiding at the embassy.
