Former Paya Jaras rep dies
KUALA LUMPUR: Former Paya Jaras assemblyman Datuk Saidin Tamby has died due to complications, including pneumonia and bleeding in the stomach, at the Selayang Hospital. He was 81.
Saidin, who died at 9.45am yesterday, was admitted to the hospital on Thursday after he suffered breathing difficulties.
He was buried at the Batu Muda Muslim Cemetery in Batu Caves near here.
Saidin served as an assemblyman from 1986 to 1999.
He was also the Selangor state assembly speaker from 1982 to 1990.
Saidin is survived by Datin Maimunah Mohd Shafie and four children – Mahizun, Mayziun, Mohd Marwan and Maznun. — Bernama
