Liow: Our healthy economy makes Saudi a keen investor

-

RAUB: Malaysia has a healthy economic growth which is why Saudi Arabia is interested in investing in our country, says MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai.

Liow said Saudi Arabia was expected to bring in investments and job opportunities during King Salman Abdulaziz Al-Saud’s official visit to the country beginning today.

“MCA welcomes the royal arrival of King Salman and his entourage,” said Liow.

“This is a recognition that Malaysia is an ideal place for investment,” he said.

“The visit by His Majesty will strengthen bilateral relations between the two nations, boost trade and development, as well as people-to-people ties,” Liow said during the Jom! Raub Jogathon charity run.

Some 2,500 people and 75 local organisations took part in the event.

Liow, who is also Transport Minister, said he hoped to see further cooperation between both the countries in transport-related fields.

Currently, Prasarana – a stateowned public transportation provider company – is operating and maintaining a metro line in Saudi Arabia.

King Salman will be in the country until March 1.

This is his first official visit to Malaysia.

During his stay, the two countries will sign a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding, including one involving Petronas and Saudi Aramco.

Saudi Arabia is one of Malaysia’s biggest trading partners.
