New logo marks a promising chapter

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Mah Sing Group Bhd has launched its new corporate logo to mark its group-wide transformation programme and new phase of its journey in the property industry.

At the unveiling ceremony at The Majestic Hotel yesterday, group managing director Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum said the new corporate logo marked the next chapter of the company’s growth.

“We have put on a new look and rethinking our purpose which is to enhance life first.

“We want to ensure all live well – be it our customers, our people and our stakeholders.

“The launch of our new logo is part of our commitment to change for the better,” he said.

In a statement, Mah Sing said the logo’s vibrant red colour represented luck, courage, passion and happiness.

“The name ‘ Mah Sing’ was also retained as a significant amount of goodwill and trust has been associated with it over the past 50 years.

“While representing a corporate face, the new logo has a specifically designed logotype which includes a hint of playfulness that signifies Mah Sing as an approachable company. It also demonstrates a mindset to push boundaries.”

The new logo was designed by an award-winning Australian brand consultant. New era: Leong giving the thumbs up to the new logo during the company’s annual dinner in Kuala Lumpur.

The process of designing the new logo involved numerous interviews, studies and draft versions before the finalised design.

In the same statement, Leong said the new logo was the company’s third since its inception and symbolised Mah Sing’s identity as a company that strived for excellence in product delivery, quality, customer service and customer care.

“Our first logo was designed by my late father in the 1960s which was a horse (Mah) inside a star (Sing).

“It symbolised his determination to expand his business across Malaysia and Singapore,” said Leong.

The second logo took shape in 1982. It was the work of Leong’s friend, who drew the logo on a napkin.

“Those few minutes in the most informal of environments led to the creation of our logo, which is now recognised by millions,” he said.

Mah Sing said the concept behind the new logo was timely and in line with its group-wide transformation.

“The group is improving its strategies and building techniques that had been perfected over the years while adopting innovative plans and new cultures that are more effective for the current market.”
