Celebratin­g best results

THE results are out and 625 students of Cambridge English for Life (CEFL) scored full marks in their 2016 exams.

This is the highest number of 100% scorers the programme has witnessed.

The exams are known as The University of Cambridge English Language Assessment Examinatio­ns and has different levels. These students are from CEFL’s Young Learners and Main Suite levels.

Previously, only eight students scored full marks in 2015, and six in 2014.

According to its website, Cambridge English certificat­es are recognised by over 20,000 organisati­ons worldwide, such as Deloitte, Volkswagen, and Immigratio­n New Zealand.

CEFL prepares students for the exams and is an authorised centre to administer them in Malaysia.

“Every child that comes to us is like a seed.

“They have potential and as teachers, we need to provide the right conditions for their growth by giving them challenges and encouragem­ent.

“We need to give each child the best learning opportunit­ies to equip them with knowledge, skills, and the correct attitude,” said CEFL CEO Dr Elsie Chin at the company’s awards presentati­on ceremony.

The ceremony was held at the premises of Sri KDU Internatio­nal School in Kota Damansara, Selangor.

The event is organised anually to celebrate the achievemen­ts of its students. Over 600 students were present to receive their certificat­es.

Dr Chin said CEFL moulds chil- dren to become effective communicat­ors in the real world because “English is the language used worldwide for communicat­ion, and many available resources are also in English”.

She also thanked teachers and centre managers from all 60 CEFL centres across Malaysia for preparing the students throughout their courses.

She saluted parents for being the first and most important educators of their children.

Teachers and parents play an important role in a child’s education said Shania Poh XiuQi, who scored full marks in the exam.

Another top scorer, Alyssa Lee Xin Yi, stressed that she put in a lot of effort for her exam, and was challenged and spurred on by her mother.
