THIRTY years ago on July 25, 1987, Sunway College opened its doors in Petaling Jaya.

Exactly 30 years later, the Sunway Education Group held a party to celebrate its achievements.

More than 4,000 students gathered on the campus grounds to enjoy various performances.

This included the four 3D Laser Projection Mapping Light Show, considered the first in Asean.

Candy floss, hot dogs and refreshments were served to guests from a wide range of booths. There were also fun fair activities.

Many students from the popular Sunway’s Got Talent entertained the crowd.

The Merlin award-winning magician Mahdi Moudini wowed the crowd before disappearing and then magically reappearing on top of the 12-storey university building to launch the event.

Over 3,000 glow sticks added a wonderful colour to the proceedings as students lit up the night sky at Sunway City as the projection mapping show began.

The 30-minute laser light show featured all the magnificent milestones of the Sunway Education Group’s journey.

Different camera crews captured the event.

At the end of the show, Sunway Group chairman and founder Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah addressed the crowd. It was a memorable night.
