Lexus quartet off to Phuket

Annual tournament selects cream of the crop for Thailand showdown

-

FOR the past decade, Lexus Malaysia has been connecting with its customers through golf by hosting exclusive events. Since 2012 the best players from this friendly tournament have been invited to participate in a regional event organised by Lexus Asia Pacific.

In the 2017 edition of the Lexus Invitational Malaysia, the car owners from all over the country came together for a day of competitive golf and an evening of fun and social networking. This featured prize-giving ceremonies at three locations – Penang Golf Club, TPC Kuala Lumpur and Horizon Hills Golf & Country Club in Johor.

During the three rounds, the Lexus owners were also treated to a golf clinic by Malaysian women professionals Michele Low and Michelle Koh, who compete on the Taiwan LPGA Tour and China LPGA Tour, respectively. The lady pros were also challenged in a ‘Beat the Pro’ contest.

Besides the lucky draw, attractive prizes were presented to the winners of each round. The hole-in-one prize was a Lexus NX200t Special Edition worth RM312,000.

Noted for its sporty and powerful design, based on the idea of a “luxury urban sports car”, the Lexus NX200t Special Edition is an ideal companion for successful customers – but there were no takers.

At Penang Golf Club Lim Beng Hor came out tops. The TPC Kuala Lumpur honours went to Ong Chee Chang and Hoe Kim Sun triumphed at Horizon Hills.

The Overall Best Runner-Up category went to Siah Chong Yee at TPC Kuala Lumpur.

This quartet has now been invited to take part in the Lexus Cup in Phuket, Thailand.

The Malaysian contingent has been successful over the past few years, winning the Country Champion award in 2015 and 2016.

In Thailand, they will face golfers from Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

“The Lexus Golf Invitational tournament has been an annual event since Lexus Malaysia began operations in 2007. It is much appreciated by our customers, many of whom are avid golfers,” said Lexus Malaysia president Ravindran Kurusamy.

“We were delighted to host the three rounds which serve as a runup to the Lexus Cup 2017 that will be held in Phuket in October.

“Our Malaysian team has done well recently and I hope that this year will see more success.

All the best to the four winners who will represent Lexus Malaysia” he added.
