Close fight at third leg of Damai Laut Series
THE third of six legs of the Damai Laut Golf Series 2017 saw 66 golfers tee off at Damai Laut Golf & Country Club in Lumut, Perak, in what turned out to be a closely fought competition.
Familiar faces who had supported the last two legs of the series were also present.
The event was played with a stroke play format and progressed smoothly in fine weather, culminating with a delightful prize-giving lunch at Green View – overlooking the golf course.
“The main objective of the Damai Laut Golf Series is to create awareness of Damai Laut Golf & Country Club and to spread the word on this golf course among the community,” said the resort’s general manager Patrick Tee.
“Also, Damai Laut has been selected as the venue of the Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM) EurAsia Perak Championship, which is co-sanctioned by the Asian Development Tour and will be held from Nov 8 to 11.”
Ahmad Marzuki took the gross champion title with a score of 76 and won himself a trophy, Sharp television set and a 3day/2night stay at Swiss-Garden Beach Resort Damai Laut.
The nett title went to Alex Yau who carded a 67 for a trophy, Sharp television set a 3day/2night stay, also at Swiss-Garden Beach Resort Damai Laut.
Golfers who had participated in all three legs were given souvenirs.
Event partners for the Damai Laut Golf Series include Heineken, Oman Air, CrestLink and Vin Golf.
