Marina: I will hand over Games report when it’s ready
KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Marina Chin will hand over an official report on the Kuala Lumpur SEA Games which will end her duty as the country’s most successful chef de missions.
“I’ve slept long enough after the tiring Games and it will be back to my duty as a mother and a wife,” said the 62-year-old former track queen.
“The SEA Games secretariat are currently compiling all the data and it will be passed to me. I’ll add my thoughts and submit the report to the respective parties.”
Marina is still in a daze over the athletes’ achievement of winning 145 gold medals.
“If there was one thing that won my heart was the commitment shown by the athletes in their respective sports,” said Marina.
“The athletes, coaches and team managers put their heart and soul into it.
“I do hope they will continue to demonstrate their love and passion for the sport in future tournaments.”
Marina was also happy that former athletes such as swimmers Nurul Huda Abdullah and Jeffrey Ong showed up at the Games to inspire the younger athletes.
