Wan Junaidi heads Melaka honours list
1,047 to receive state awards to mark 79th birthday of Yang di-Pertua Negri
MELAKA: Natural Resources and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar heads the list of 1,047 recipients of state awards to mark the 79th birthday of Melaka Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob today.
Wan Junaidi will receive the Darjah Gemilang Seri Melaka (DGSM) award which carries the title Datuk Seri, with 12 others.
Among them are State Education, Higher Education, Science and Technology and Green Technology Committee chairman Datuk Md Yunos Husin, Umno executive secretary Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh, Melaka MCA vice-chairman Datuk Soon Tian Szu and EOSH Properties Sdn Bhd executive director Ng Kim Leng.
Thirty individuals will receive the Darjah Cemerlang Seri Melaka (DCSM) award which carries the title Datuk Wira.
Among them are Deputy Tourism Minister Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin; State Housing, Local Government and Environment Committee chairman Datuk Ismail Othman; Deputy Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique; Armed Forces Chief Jen Tan Sri Zulkiple Kassim and Principal Private Secretary to the Prime Minister Datuk Iskandar Mohd Kaus.
The 11 recipients of the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM), which carries the title Datuk, include Melaka High Court judge Datuk Vazeer Alam Mydin Meera; Melaka police chief Datuk Abd Jalil Hassan and Federal Deputy CID chief Deputy Comm Saiful Azly Kamaruddin.
A total of 121 persons will receive the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (DPSM) award which also carries the title Datuk.
They include Star Media Group chief operating officer Calvin Kan King Seong, China Press editor- in- chief Teoh Yang Khoon, businessman Anbumani Balan and national badminton women’s singles coach Tey Seu Bock.
State Secretary Datuk Seri Naim Abu Bakar said the initial investiture ceremony will be held tomorrow with 215 persons being conferred awards, followed by 432 recipients on Nov 4 and 400 during the final session on Nov 5.
