Zah Rahan: This is the perfect year for Felda to triumph

PETALING JAYA: Liberian international Zah Rahan Krangar believes this is Felda United’s year to win the prestigious Malaysia Cup.

The Fighters midfield dynamo strongly feels that the Super League side have come of age and will stamp their mark by winning their first major silverware this season.

“This is the perfect year for Felda to win it. I have been here long enough to say that we have all the ingredients to become champions,” said Zah Rahan ahead of their Malaysia Cup semi-final, first-leg match against defending champions Kedah at the Tun Abdul Razak Stadium in Jengka, Pahang tomorrow.

The 32-year-old Zah Rahan has made over 73 appearances for the team since his debut in 2014, which was also his best season.

Then, he helped the Premier League side finish as runners-up to earn promotion to the top flight. That same year, they also qualified for the FA Cup final, where they lost 2-1 to Pahang.

Zah Rahan also has a personal target that he wants to achieve with Felda.

“As a professional player, I’m looking forward to winning a champion’s medal with this team. I have come close, with three runners-up medal to show for since joining Felda in 2014. The right time has come for me to achieve this.

“Kedah are a good team but we fear no one. We have beaten Kedah and even Super League champions Johor Darul Ta’zim this season. So, we are ready for this big game. I will make sure we get the right result in the first-leg in Jengka,” said Zah Rahan, who also has a runners-up medal in the Super League last year.

The return leg will be played at the Darulaman Stadium in Alor Setar on Oct 21.
