Young artists feted for creativity
PET RON Malaysia has announced the winners of the Fifth Vision Petron a rtcompetition with the theme, “Rediscovering the Ingenuity of Youth”.
A total of 18 young artists stood outa mong 900 students from 20 different universities across
Ma la ysia .
Sze To Joe Yin from the
Ma la ysia n Institute of Artemerged as the grand winner int heart painting category with his artwork “The BestTime In Life”. His work bea tthe other 334 submissions in the category.
“Youth in Action” by the grand winner, Mohammad Sya mil Mohd Ra slifrom Multimedia University was chosen for its exceptional portray al of a group of youth shot ina stunning silhouette photo.

Each grand prize winner received RM3,000. Second a nd third place winners received RM2,000 a nd RM1,000, respectively, while those in the fourth, fifth, a nd sixth places won RM 500.
All winners received trophies, vouchers and art supplies as well as certificates of participation.
“Vision Petron is the only a rt competition in the country to give tertiary students the opportunity to showcase their talent sin the fields of painting, photography and video g rap hy.
“Atthe sa me time, itempowers the youth to uphold the va lues of ha rd work, pa ssion for excellence, a nd love for country.
“This is a nother wa y for us to contribute to na tion-building by promoting a rts a nd culture a mong the youth of Ma la ysia ,” sa id Hea d of Reta il Business Fa rida h Ali.
The winners were chosen by a pa nel of judges ba sed on origina lity, composition a nd crea tivity.
Pa stjudges include prominent na tiona l a rtists Awa ng Da mit Ahma d, Ba yu Utomo Ra djikin, a nd BibiChew for the a rtpa inting ca tegory; AmriGina ng, Za inudin Arsha d, a nd Sta r Media Group photo editor Ng Kok Leong for the photogra phy ca tegory, a nd filmma kers Da tuk Yusof Ha sla m, Da tin Pa duka Shuha imiBa ba a nd Ta n ChuiMuifor the video ca tegory.
From Februa ry to July this yea r, Petron emba rked on a number of roa dshows a t14 loca l a nd priva te universities.
More tha n 1,000 students pa rticipa ted in order to ga in more insight son each category in the competition.
