Malay teen wows netizens by singing Chinese song

A MALAY teenage girl has become an Internet sensation following her Chinese rendition of Si Le Dou Yao Ai (Still Love Even After Death), reported China Press.

Siti Nur Masyitah Mohd Yusoff (pic), better known as Masyitah Masya, blew away netizens with her powerful vocals in the song made popular by the now disbanded Taiwanese rock band Shin.

The video has been shared 25,869 times as of Monday after it was uploaded on Facebook on Oct 5. It has been viewed 871,000 times and generated 24,000 likes.

The 17yearold, the champion of 2014 Ceria Popstar (a children’s singing competitti­on) and 2016 Pesta Singing Coontest winner, said she hoped to become a profession­al singger.

“I want to improve my Mandarin and hope to perform in China one dayy,” she was quoted by the daily.

Masyitah has taken part in hundreds ofo singing contests from a young age.

Following the rave reviews, Masyitaah, who studied in a Chinese primary school, saidd several local recording companies – some froom Tai wan – have been in toouch with her.

“After delivering, the second challenge is breastfeed­ing. The baby needs to be fed every two to three hours.

“I believe all new mothers are worried that their breast milk is not enough for their babies. No words can describe the pressure and feeling,” she posted.

Wu said she is grateful that the nurse and confinemen­t lady helped with a massage when her breasts became engorged.

“It was painful. But it is worthwhile when you see the breast milk for your baby. To all new mothers, don’t give up easily. Let’s work hard together,” she wrote.
