House burns down after children play with fire

-

THREE children who were said to be playing with fire started a blaze that destroyed about 80% of a house, Sin Chew Daily reported.

Their mother was also injured during the incident at their home in Lukut, Negri Sembilan, at about 2pm on Tuesday.

In her haste, the woman could not find the keys she needed to escape the house.

Luckily, their neighbours saw the flames and rushed to their rescue.

At least eight of them managed to pry open the grill door and save the woman and her children.

The woman was then rushed to Port Dickson Hospital.

Port Dickson Fire and Rescue Department chief operations officer Razif Mohamad Haris said his department was investigating the cause of the fire.

> A woman managed to stop her husband from being cheated by a scammer, China Press reported.

Her husband received a call from a man claiming to be a police personnel, saying he had failed to appear in court for a money laundering case.

Although her husband said he was not involved in any illegal activity, the man passed the call to several people who insisted that he was involved.

The woman suspected it was a scam and tried to tell her husband, but was ignored.

The woman was then joined by her mother-in-law, but he continued to ignore them both.

After talking to someone from “Bukit Aman police headquarters” who promised to help him settle the matter, he hung up and tried to send his bank account number to the “policeman”.

It was only then that his wife and mother managed to convince him not to send the account number.

A police report has been lodged.
