Federal Territories continue to excel, says Ku Nan
KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Territories’ pursuit of excellence has not been hampered by the global economic uncertainty, says Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
“Putrajaya is recognised as one of the most modern, well-planned and organised government administrative centres.
“Labuan is a business centre that houses the oil and gas hub, in addition to international financial centres,” he said during the investiture ceremony held to mark Federal Territory Day at Istana Negara yesterday.
He said Kuala Lumpur maintained its position in the list of 10 most popular travel destinations in the world last year, according to market research company Euromonitor International.
“It is also among the world’s top four suitable cities to live in based on affordable prices, sustainability and high-level of security,” he said.
Tengku Adnan said his ministry would ensure the image, cleanliness and quality of the cities were always maintained.
“The harmony and well-being of the Federal Territories have been my aspiration, with a determination to enhance integrity at all levels, and at the same time, reduce bureaucratic red tape for the convenience of the people,” he said.
The minister said the Federal Territory Day celebration would take place for a month with 32 programmes lined up to give a “feel good factor” to the community. — Bernama
