Stall offers 50-sen breakfast on third Saturday

A STALL in Tedong Pekan in Merlimau, Melaka, is doing a roaring business on the third Saturday of the month as everything on its breakfast menu is as low as 50 sen, Sinar Harian reported.

The owner Abd Rahman Abd Hamid, 60, said it was his way of helping the residents have a decent breakfast at a low price.

“Usually, everything is sold out within a few hours because of the immense support we get from the customers,” he said.

Despite charging only 50 sen, he added that they are not experienci­ng losses as it was only held once a month.

Norain Azira Azmi, 14, accidental­ly swallowed one of the two pins she had between her lips while talking.

She was then rushed to Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah after her friend informed their teacher of the incident.

Her mother, Noraslinda Ibrahim, 36, said her daughter’s condition was normal as she can talk and swallow food. She said Norain was scheduled for a follow-up treatment tomorrow, adding that there might be a possibilit­y of an operation if the needle can be located through an X-ray.

> A Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) personnel was bitten by a python while on duty in Kampung Hilir in Sibu, Sarawak, Kosmo! reported.

The incident happened when L/Kpl (PA) Kamisah Rais, 30, along with another three APM personnel, were trying to capture the python.

Sarawak APM public relations officer Lt Hafizul Samah said Kamisah was injured after his middle finger was bitten by the reptile.

He is in a stable condition at a hospital here.
