He shot a 76 gross score and for his efforts, Tan was rewarded with a trophy, 50-inch Sharp television set and a 3-day/2-nights stay at Swiss-Garden Beach Resort Damai Laut.

The nett title went to 19-handicapper Mohd Fadzil Razali, who carded a 64 to win a trophy, 40-inch Sharp TV and a 3-day/2nights stay at Swiss-Garden Beach Resort Damai Laut.

Fadzil played some of the best golf by any amateur in this country this year. He shot eight-under-par in relation to his handicap of 19, which equated to a gross score of just 83 on the par-72 Ronald Fream course.

The hole-in-one prize of a BMW 118i M Sport vehicle went unclaimed as no-one managed the perfect shot on the day.

Commenting on the course, the resort’s general manager Patrick Tee said: “Damai Laut Golf & Country Club recently hosted two international group of golfers, one being from Korea and the other from the China Hong Kong Senior PGA Tour.

“Both groups said they enjoyed the layout and stated their intentions to return again,” said Tee.
