Pribumi leaders said to have falsified papers

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Several members of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia have called out their party leaders for allegedly falsifying documents handed to the Registrar of Societies.

The members from several Selangor Pribumi divisions said they were concerned that the documents were falsified after they heard that the documents, submitted by Pribumi executive secretary Kapten (Rtd) Muhammad Suhaimi Yahya, were based on the party’s branch and divisional reports as well as its financial reports.

However, these branch and divisional meetings never took place ahead of its annual general meeting last year, Gombak Pribumi member Mohd Azimin Muhamad claimed yesterday.

“What RoS had required from Pribumi are its branch, divisional and financial reports in a letter of demand dated Feb 28.

“We are not so sure about the financial report, but we do know about the branch and divisional meetings. We were shocked.

“What meetings? Not only in Selangor.

“We have also contacted our friends in Penang and they had never attended any meeting either at the branch or divisional levels,” he told reporters at a press conference.

Azimin questioned what report was sent to the RoS when the meet- ings did not take place and labelled it a betrayal to party members nationwide.

He also urged Pribumi secretary-general Datuk Dr Shahruddin Md Salleh to come clean on the status of the meetings.

“For us, this is obviously a manipulation of facts concerning the meetings, forgery of meeting minutes at both branch and divisional levels, and a crime against a government department,” he said.

Azimin said the RoS should take action if the report on the meetings was proven to be fraudulent.

He added that he and his fellow members would be lodging a police report on Tuesday over the matter.
