Klang golfers weigh in with support
MALAYSIAN Cleansing Services Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with the Klang Golfers Association, organised their second annual charity event to raise money for Klang Special School, as part of their CSR project this year.
The tournament was held in Bukit Kemuning Golf Resort, where company chairman, Datuk K. Karunanidhi emphasised the importance of education and its impact on society.
He said at the charity dinner that Malaysian Cleansing Services and Klang Golfers raised RM13,000 for the school.
The other beneficiaries were Pusat Jagaan Baitus Sakinah Wal Mahabbah, which received RM2,000 and Persatuan Rumah Kebajikan Sai Baba Klang, which also received RM2,000.
The funds raised for the school were collected by the Apex Club of Klang, who in turn will channel it to the school for a student, Mogan Raj, who is suffering from cerebral paralysis. The donation will be used for treatment and his welfare for this calendar year.
Karunanidhi’s association with the school dates back to 1989 when he was the vice-president of Apex Klang, the service club instrumental in putting up the school.
The school caters for slightly over 200 students, about 25% of them are extremely poor and often unable to pay their fees.
In the golf tournament, Aslam Abdullah Pillai emerged the gross champion, while the nett title went to Bahari Mohd Sani.
Kuvendran Sukumaran claimed the A Medal crown, Nallasamy won the B Medal and K.M. Tan collected the C Medal honours.
