Reveal motive behind wanting rival parties gone, Ti tells DAP

-

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker has challenged DAP to reveal to the Chinese community why it really wants to eliminate MCA and Gerakan from the political scene.

The MCA publicity spokesman claimed that DAP’s sole interest was to take ownership of Chinese political representation and was in reality “desperately seeking” to be part of the Federal Government.

Ti said in a statement yesterday that there were no limits for DAP when it came to “selling their principles”.

He said that in the past, DAP had “kowtowed” to Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah (Semangat 46), the late Datuk Fadzil Noor and Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang (PAS), Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim ( PKR), Mohamad Sabu (Parti Amanah Negara) and now to Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad (Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia).

Ti pointed out that DAP had been Dr Mahathir’s greatest critic when he was in office for 22 years.

“The question now is what will the Chinese gain from removing or eliminating MCA and Gerakan from among their political options?” asked Ti.

He said that in the name of democracy, DAP should not be talking about eliminating anyone.

“By allowing for both competition and choice, there is bound to be improvement.

“Why deprive the community of their choice to choose the better party to represent their interests by going for the kill?

“In the past when they were weaker, they pleaded for a twoparty system, for checks and balances and so on.

“Now that they are stronger, they want MCA and Gerakan to be permanently removed from the political scene,” he said.
