Man runs amok slashing three kids to death

IPOH: A man in his 30s ran amok and killed three young siblings, also seriously injuring their sister, mother and two others using a parang in Bagan Datuk.

In the 2pm incident yesterday, the man who was known to some of the victims had gone to a house in Kampung Sungai Haji Muhammad Selekoh with a parang before attacking a five-year-old boy and his two siblings aged three and two.

The three have been identified as Mohammad Faqhqih Zahirulhaq Mohd Fadzil, five, Muhammad Firash Zaffril, three, and Nur Ziah Fasihah, two.

Hilir Perak OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Marzukhi Mohd Mokhtar said the three children died at the house during the attack, while their 35-year-old mother sustained serious injuries to her fingers, face and thighs.

He said the man then went to the nearby SK Sungai Haji Mohamad primary school and attacked their nine-year-old sister and another girl of the same age.

“Their sister suffered severe injuries to her right hand and head. Her friend was also attacked and had injuries on her head and hands.

“The man also attacked a teacher there with the parang,’’ ACP Marzukhi said.

The injured were brought to the Teluk Intan Hospital for treatment.
