Dr M meets Rafidah and Nor Mohamed
PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad met former Cabinet ministers Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop and Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz.
The meeting was held at the Perdana Leadership Foundation soon after Dr Mahathir arrived here at about 3.10pm after attending the Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting earlier in Petaling Jaya.
Nor Mohamed, who previously served as Finance Minister II, was spotted leaving the compound at about 3.50pm while Rafidah, who was previously International Trade and Industry Minister, left 10 minutes earlier.
Nor Mohamed, 70, is considered the architect of Malaysia’s corporate transformation – after the 1998 financial crisis.
Nor Mohamed hit the limelight when he testified before the Royal Commission of Inquiry that investigated Bank Negara’s forex losses of RM32bil between 1991 and 1993.
He was named as the dealer responsible for the losses chalked up by Bank Negara in the 1990s.
Nor Mohamed resigned as deputy chairman of Khazanah Nasional Bhd and chairman of Khazanah Research Institute in Sept 30 last year.
