Youth re­manded af­ter drugs found in buried jar

KUALA TERENG­GANU: A small-time drug dealer thought he had found a great hid­ing place for his il­licit ware.

How­ever, he was un­pre­pared for con­stant po­lice ques­tion­ing and buck­led un­der pres­sure when they made him re­veal where he hid the drugs.

On Mon­day, a team from the state Nar­cotics Crime In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment raided the 20-year-old’s fam­ily home in Kam­pung Se­berang Bukit Tum­buh in nearby Kuala Nerus at 3am af­ter in­ves­ti­gat­ing the sus­pect for three weeks.

Po­lice found a jar buried in a 0.3m-deep hole. It con­tained 40 vials of drugs, be­lieved to be heroin, wrapped in four pa­per pack­ages, said state NCID chief Supt Roslan Tahir.

The drugs are worth about RM20,000.
