Houston was child abuse victim, new film alleges
CannEs: An explosive new documentary about the tragic life of Whitney Houston (pic) claims the superstar was sexually abused as a child by her cousin, soul singer Dee Dee Warwick.
The bombshell revelation in Whitney, made with the cooperation of the late singer’s family, comes late in the film by Oscarwinning director Kevin Macdonald, which premiered on Thursday at the Cannes film festival.
Houston’s assistant Mary Jones, whom she called “Aunt Mary” – and who found Houston facedown in a bathtubhtub the night she died – said the singer told her she was molessted.

The abuse claim may help to shine a light on the singer’s troubled love life and descent into drug addiction, which contributed to her early death at 48 in 2012.
The film presents her longrumoured bisexuality as fact, but said she struggled to maintain a romance with female partner Robyn Crawford due to enduring trauma and the pressures of maintaining her public image. Her destructive 14year marriage to rapper Bobby Brown is also tackled in the film. Brown tells Macdonald that drug abuse had “nothing to do” with HoustonHouston’ss death,death althoughalth the coroner said it was a contributing factor.
Footage shows the neglect of their daughter Bobbbi Kristina Brown, whho was also found unconsscious in a bathtub in 2015 and died six months laater. Dee Deee was part of thhe band The Drinnkard Singers.. She also strruggled with drrug addicttion and died aaged 63 in 20008. — AFPP
