How to beat your post-World Cup blues:

- Source: Various

Catch up on your sleep

Now’s the time to catch up on some Z’s without worrying about missing any wonder goals.

Hit your gym

Burn off the late night snacks that you had gorged on the treadmill, or better, get some friends together for a futsal game. (No, foosball does not count).

Call your mother

Don’t ignore the missed calls any longer. Call your mother, and maybe she will listen to you complain about the VAR.

Spend time with your loved one

Have you noticed how your significant other has been sulking? Now is the time to rekindle the love - with a Netflix night. (There are many good football films to choose from!)

Get a makeover

Treat yourself to a facial to rejuvenate your tired skin after all the late nights and to remove the last traces of face paint. Or get your hair cut and dyed like your favourite World Cup player. Just think twice before you go blonde Neymar (even he went back to the bottle!).

Try retail therapy

There is no remedy like shopping – just ask Carrie Bradshaw. The new official France jersey with the second star is coming to the stores, after all.

Get your groove on

Fortnite battle royale celebration dance moves were left, right and centre on the 2018 World Cup pitch. France’s Antoine Griezmann, who did the Take the L hustle after scoring a penalty against Croatia in the final, might have grated some but it inspired his team to win the Cup. Les Bleus even got their president Macron to try the Fortnite jig after the award ceremony.

Keep calm and go exploring

Mindfully exploring your “gratitude, acceptance, letting go and play to encourage joy from the inside out” through the 7 Days of Happiness Meditation Series on the meditation app Calm, that is. You can also try a Loving Kindness Meditation to cultivate self-compassion and send some good wishes to fellow fans also mourning the end of the World Cup, or even to members of a losing team, who are likely also feeling a little blue.
