Police to give Musa enough time to recover from illness

-

KOTA KINABALU: Police will give former chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman enough time to recover from his illness before calling him up for questioning in connection with a criminal intimidation report.

“We will give him time to recover as he is now admitted to a private hospital in Kuala Lumpur,” said Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Ramli Din.

“It is not a special treatment for Musa but was done on humanitarian grounds.”

Musa returned to Malaysia on a private jet from Singapore on Tuesday and was warded at the private hospital for his illness.

Musa is believed to be in the United Kingdom for three months after vanishing from Sabah at the end of May.

Political aide Mohd Joh Wid in a Facebook posting on Tuesday said the former chief minister decided to return to Malaysia to settle outstanding issues.

He returned despite his doctors’ advice not to travel.

Since Musa’s return, police have received 10 more reports urging them to investigate the alleged criminal intimidation case under treason charges.

One of the complainants, Mohammad Firdaus Diun, said the current investigation into the case was inappropriate as the report involved the Governor and therefore it must be investigated for treason.

Similar reports calling for Musa to be investigated for treason were also made in Beaufort, Keningau, Beaufort, Keningau, Batu Sapi, Libaran, Sandakan, Kudat, Kimanis, Kota Marudu and Penampang.

Sabah police have so far recorded the statements of nine individuals in regard to the report made by Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin against Musa, the former Sabah Barisan Nasional chairman.

Musa was alleged to have threatened Juhar at the istana prior to him being sworn in as Sabah chief minister on May 10.

But two days later, Musa fled Sabah when Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal was sworn in the new Chief Minister.
