Singer Saleem in critical condition after car accident
AWARD-winning singer Saleem (pic) is in critical condition following a car accident, said fellow artiste veteran singer Datuk Nassier Wahab, Utusan Malaysia reported.
Nassier said that he visited Saleem, who is the former lead vocalist of the rock group Iklim, at the intensive care unit (ICU) ward.
“He is in critical condition and let us pray for his recovery soon,” he said.
Saleem, or his real name A. M Saleem Abd Majeed, 57, was reported to have been involved in a road accident at Taman Mahkota Cheras, on Thursday.
The motorcycle he was riding was said to have been hit from behind by a car, sending him flying off his machine.

The incident took place about 4.20am on Sunday when the phone scorched the mattress after it exploded.
Victim, Nur Filzah Abdul Rahman, a bank clerk, 24, said she charged her phone the night before and left it on the mattress.
“I charged it at about 12.30am, and will usually leave it on the floor before falling asleep.
“That night I forgot about it and left it on the the mattress,” she said.
“At about 4.20am, I felt piercing hot pain on my arm and thought I was dreaming. When I touched the phone I felt burning pain and flung it off the bed. The room was filled with smoke,” she said.
She and a friend put out the fire with a bucket of water, she said.

Dang Wangi police chief Asst Comm Shaharuddin Abdullah said police are investigating the owner of the drone and how it ended up near the police headquarters.
“At the moment, we have yet to determine the owner of the drone and investigations are still ongoing to track the individuals behind it,” he said.
