Rosmah and sons avoid media after questioning
KUALA LUMPUR: Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and her two sons managed to give the media the slip after their latest round of questioning by authorities in relation to 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).
The wife of former premier Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who wore a white baju kurung with black patterns, along with her sons Norashman Najib and Riza Aziz were questioned for about three hours by Bukit Aman’s Anti-money Laundering and Anti-terrorism Financing Prevention (Amlatfa) division.
They used a separate entrance to exit the Commercial Crime Investigation Department’s headquarters at Menara KPJ, Jalan Tun Razak, to evade journalists.
They left in a black Proton Perdana and a black BMW at about 1pm.
Earlier, Rosmah, who arrived at Menara KPJ at 9.50am, appeared calm as reporters clamoured to take photographs and videos of her.
Rosmah and her sons were initially told to come to Menara KPJ on Thursday, but the meeting was postponed till 10am yesterday.
It is learnt that Rosmah was supposed to meet investigators probing the 1MDB case.
“Investigators questioned her on various issues relating to 1MDB, including the items seized from premises linked to her husband (Najib).
“This is part of the division’s investigation into various aspects linked to the sovereign fund,” a source said.
Several premises linked to Najib have been raided by police since late May, where cash, jewellery, other luxury items and documents were seized.
In one of the raids, a location in Presint 10, Putrajaya, owned by the Property Management Division of the Prime Minister’s Department, was checked by the Amlatfa division.
It is located some 200m from Seri Perdana, the official residence of the prime minister, and the search was believed to be tied to investigations into 1MDB.
Police officers combed the house on June 11 looking for documents linked to money laundering and misappropriation of funds.
They also seized several boxes from the house.
