Up to 7,000 to join fun run on March 17

GEORGE TOWN: The popular Star Health Fun Run 2019 will take off on March 17.

Initially set for Nov 3, it was reschedule­d and runners who have signed up are reminded that the T-shirt collection days have also been moved to March 15 and 16 at SPICE Convention Centre.

Previously called Fit For Life Fun Run, the event will see runners take to the hill at Jalan Tun Dr Awang, beside an army camp.

The 9.5km route starts at Jalan Mahsuri, in front of Olive Tree Hotel. Flag-off is at 7.30am.

This year’s event is open to 7,000 runners of all ages instead of the previous limit of 4,000.

Registrati­on fee is RM25 for adults and RM15 for children – aged between seven and 17.

It will also be RM15 for students registerin­g under their schools.

The top three schools with the highest participat­ion will receive book vouchers.

Every runner will get a goodie bag, micro-fibre T-shirt, a certificat­e of participat­ion and a finisher medal.

Runners will have access to a water station midway.

After the run, a much-anticipate­d lucky draw session that offers attractive prizes will be held in SPICE Arena, where the Star Health Expo will also take place.

Star Health Expo 2019 with the theme “Get Fit. Live Great!” aims to inspire Malaysians to lead a healthy lifestyle and adopt a holistic approach that includes physical and mental health, emotional well-being and financial wellness.
