Johor MCA Youth wants to know how allocation was used

-

PONTIAN: Johor MCA Youth wants the state government to explain the use of the RM200,000 allocation given to Pakatan Harapan lawmakers for their constituencies.

Its chief Ling Tian Soon claimed Johor MCA Youth had received feedback from the community and non-governmental organisations that the allocation was no longer available for them.

“The money should be disbursed to the local community and NGOs but it didn’t reach them,” he claimed at a press conference yesterday.

When approached by their constituents and NGOs for financial aid from the RM200,000 allocation, Ling claimed that the Pakatan lawmakers said the money was already fully utilised.

He said the state government and the lawmakers should explain to voters in Johor as to how the funds were utilised.

He also said Johor had RM3.2bil in the state’s coffers before Pakatan won the May general election.

Ling also asked the state government to address the unemployment problem among youths in the state budget that would be tabled on Nov 29.

Ling alleged that some 1,600 youths in Johor had lost their jobs since January when many factories ceased operations.

He said factory workers in Kluang district were badly hit when a tile and an apparel making manufacturer had to close down.

The money should be disbursed to the local community and NGOs but it didn’t reach them. Ling Tian Soon
