‘MIC has no problem working with PAS’

-

IF DAP can work with Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah), what is the problem if MIC works with PAS, asked MIC president Tan Sri S. A Vigneswaran.

He said MIC had no problem working with PAS and it had taken the cue from the then opposition DAP which had no qualms working with Amanah.

“When DAP can feel comfortable with Amanah, what is the difference with us.

“PAS has never torn down any temples,” he said when asked on the merger proposal between Umno and PAS raised by Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Vigneswaran said MIC would make its official stance on the matter after discussing with the party’s top leaders and Barisan Nasional components.

“Politics in this country is getting more mature. Anything is possible.

“As far as I am concerned, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad managed to bring all the (Pakatan Harapan) parties under him. That is his capability. If for the survival of Umno and PAS they want to go for a merger, it is up to them.

“I have got to consider our stance after consulting with my CWC and MCA,” he said.
