MB promotes Perak by becoming a movie star

IPOH: He is a mentri besar and has got the looks to be a movie star.

Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu is starring in a feature film that will help promote Perak.

Playing a supporting character, Ahmad Faizal will join a cast that includes Imuda, Khatijah Tan, Omar Abdullah and Kazar.

The film, to be directed by Sabri Yunus, will be shot in several locations, including Batu Kurau, Taiping and Batu Gajah.

It will depict the country in the 1960s and centres on a mischievous boy called Buntat.

Chased out of his kampung for being mischievous, Buntat hops on a lorry and heads for Penang.

Ahmad Faizal said the film had a positive message.

“Filming is in Perak and together with my short appearance, it will promote the state,” said Ahmad Faizal.

The film will be released in September next year.
