BTS bags five prizes at Asia Artiste Awards

K-POP group BTS bagged five awards in the 2018 Asia Artiste Awards, including Daesang, the grand prize in the artistes category, China Press reported.

Daesang is selected from the artiste of the year nominees.

BTS also won the StarPay Popularity Award, Korean Tourism Appreciati­on Award, Fabulous Award and Artiste of the Year Award.

The members thanked their fans, known collective­ly as the “Army”, for supporting them.

“Many things have happened this year and we enjoyed the times with our ‘Army’,” said Ji Min, a member of the group.

The group also performed Fake Love and Idol during the event at Namdong Gymnasiumm Incheon, South Korea.

Meanwhile, South Korean girl group Twice also won the Fabulous Award, Best Artiste and Artiste of the Year Award.

China Press reported the Sessions Court found the accused, 48, guilty of incest, which carries a maximum imprisonme­nt of 30 years.

He committed the offence at 7am on Nov 15.

The man was arrested three days later after the victim lodged a police report.

> A passenger almost caused an accident after he tried to take control of the steering wheel of a speed- ing bus in China when the driver ignored his request to be dropped off, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The incident happened on a highway in Tongzi county, Guizhou province.

The 30-year-old complained of a stomachach­e, but when the driver refused to stop, the passenger tried to grab the steering wheel and the bus swerved violently.

Four passengers managed to haul the man away and handed him to the police. No one was injured.
