Leganes and Getafe draw in southern Madrid derby

MADRID: Leganes and Getafe drew 1-1 in a Spanish League derby between southern Madrid clubs.

Uruguayan defender Leandro Cabrera headed Getafe in front in the 39th minute and Cameroonian rightback Allan Nyom equalised for the home side from inside the area in the 64th on Friday.

Leganes had midfielder Ruben Perez sent off three minutes into injury time.

The result extended Leganes’ unbeaten streak to seven matches in all competitions.

Getafe are sixth in the standings and have not lost an away match since a season-opening 2-0 defeat against Real Madrid.

Leganes are in 16th spot and six points clear of the relegation zone.

Fifth-place Real Madrid visit lastplace Huesca today.
