WARNING: SIGHT WON’T SAVE YOU
PEOPLE screaming and running wildly, cars in head-on collisions, mayhem all around.
A mysterious entity is taking over the world but no one can figure out exactly what it is. Everywhere, people are disappearing and dying under mysterious circumstances, and the chances of survival are slim.
A group of strangers discovers that this force cleverly takes the form of one’s worst fears and the only way to beat it is to keep your eyes closed. But who – or what – are these “creatures” anyway?
You would have heard of the dystopian thriller Bird Box by now. The film is making its presence felt with a chilling trailer of a little boy and his bicycle bell and people resorting to blindfolds in an effort to survive in a post-apocalyptic world brought on by creatures who can make you “see” your worst fears.
Academy Award winner Sandra Bullock is our courageous heroine who goes against all odds. Bullock leads an all-star cast that includes Trevante Rhodes, Sarah Paulson and John Malkovich in the compelling new original Netflix film from Academy Awardwinning Danish director, Susanne Bier.
Facing the unknown, Bullock’s character Malorie finds love, hope and a new beginning only for it to quickly unravel. This forc- es her to undertake a perilous two-day journey down a treacherous river to the one place left in the world that seem to offer some sanctuary.
The journey is dangerous, and having to do it while blindfolded – with two children in tow – makes it even more difficult. All three must rely on their other senses to survive, and most importantly, to trust no one.
Bird Box premieres on Netflix on Dec 21.
