Premium dimsum access for Unifi and Streamyx customers

-

PETALING JAYA: Unifi and Streamyx customers will get to enjoy premium access to dimsum for free for three months upon subscribing to the video-on-demand service.

Dimsum chief marketing officer Lam Swee Kim said that Unifi customers will also be able to utilise dimsum’s premium access for up to five devices under one account at a discounted price of RM10 per month after the three-month free period ends.

Lam said that Streamyx’s 4Mbps and 8Mbps customers would also be able to enjoy the same perks.

“This is an exclusive offer, as normal customers will only enjoy 30-day of free trial with monthly subscription fee at RM13.90 per month after free trial,” she added.

She said that customers were required to connect their devices to their home Unifi or Streamyx network and sign up for a new dimsum account via the dimsum app or web browsers.

Upon successful registration, they need to opt-in for auto-recurring payment through their TM bill, and this will automatically entitle them to the three months free dimsum premium access.

She said that the promotion was due to a partnership between dimsum and Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM).

“The extraordinary response to dimsum since our initial partnership with TM shows the popularity of our Asian content among the subscribers with a 100% increase in subscribers’ video consumption in just two weeks since we launched the partnership.

“In addition to our simulcast (simultaneous transmission of ) content from Singapore, Taiwan, and Japan for lovers of Asian content, we believe that fans wouldn’t want to miss their chance to enjoy the simulcast of popular Thai dramas such as The Battle of Star and Devil Angel as well as simulcast of China drama, The King of Blaze.

“This special offer allows us to connect with TM customers nationwide to try out dimsum and enable a great user experience on our full high-definition service,” she added.

She said that dimsum was known as a video-on-demand service that offered the best unlimited Asian content of various genres such as drama, anime, variety shows, and children’s programmes.

At present, dimsum has six branded content partners from Asia, which are GMM Grammy, AniOne, Oh!K, Miao Mi, Asia Travel and Life Inspired, she added.

Unifi and Unifi TV Business and Media Operations vice president Emily Wee said that the partnership shows TM’s commitment in enhancing customers’ experience with the service.

“This collaboration delivers our commitment in boosting our customers’ experience not just on connectiv- ity, but to be able to enjoy even more variety of entertainment content.

“Now, our customers are spoiled with an unbeatable choice of extensive library of Asian entertainment from dimsum on any devices, true to our brand promise of life made easier,” said Wee.

The monthly subscription fee for dimsum is RM13.90 and it is currently available in Malaysia, Brunei and Singapore (at the introductory price of S$4.90).

Dimsum is accessible via web and mobile applications, as well as Smart television sets in Malaysia and Brunei.

The dimsum application can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play Store.
