Actress feels she’s not ready for the trip

ACTRESS Uqasha Sensrose (pic) is nervous at the prospect of performing umrah (mini pilgrimage) for the first time, reported Berita Harian.

Uqasha, who is leaving for Mecca tomorrow, said she honestly felt that she was not ready to go the Holy City but her mother always urged her to go there.

The Hero Seorang Cinderella actress said it was her family’s encouragement and the pre- umrah course she took that gave her the strength to go ahead.

“I want to pray to meet my future husband, for good health and also serenity because I’ve been through a lot in this life,” she said.

Uqasha, who courted controversy after she stopped wearing the headscarf in 2016, also said she was aware that many people expected her to change, especially her appearance, after returning from umrah.

“I don’t mind what they say because I can’t satisfy everyone. But I refuse to put myself in a ‘prison’ just to satisfy people,” she said.

Uqasha said it was not as if she was immune to criticism from netizens but that she did not want to be vulnerable.

> The same daily reported that a health officer in Taiping, Perak, was found dead on a mangosteen tree in an orchard in Kampung Jawa, Padang Gajah, on Sunday.

Taiping district deputy police chief Supt Razlam Ab Hamid said the man, Iahasan Mohd Majudin, 59, had gone to the orchard with a friend to get some fruits.

“The victim and his friend, who is also the orchard owner, split up to look for fruits when they got there,” he said.

“The victim was looking for fruits around an empty house at the orchard while his friend went to the foothill.

“At about 11am, the friend went to look for the victim but he was missing. The friend then found the victim unconscious and stuck between the branches of a 3m-tall mangosteen tree. He then called for help.”

Supt Razlam added that rescuers then managed to bring the body down and sent it to Hospital Taiping for a post-mortem.
