PETALING JAYA: National Under23 player Sean Eugene Selvaraj will be out to scale greater heights with Selangor.

However, the 22-year-old faces a tough time as Selangor have also signed several wingers such as Mohd Syazwan Zainon, Muhammad Nurridzuan Abu Hassan Saari, Wan Zack Haikal Wan Noor and Mohd Faiz Mohd Nasir.

“Football is simple. Whoever performs well will play. Big players have joined the club, and as a young player, I am determined to show my capabilities,” said Sean.

“I just have to perform consistently and help my teammates.

The former Negri Sembilan player said the addition of coach B. Sathianathan is a plus for Selangor as the former Malaysia trainer is a quality coach.

“I aim to learn as much as possible from him. Over the years, he has led many teams to success, and for Selangor, he has told us his target,” added Sean.

“We have agreed to it. The work starts now, and the team will have to work really hard to achieve the coach’s goal.”

In his first season for Selangor, Sean played 20 matches and scored three goals for the Klang Valley club.

“I have been here for a year now and learnt that it is not an easy task to play for a team like Selangor. Fans expectations are high and we have to prove our worth to them.”

In Selangor’s first pre-season match, Sean scored a goal in the team’s 1-1 draw against Penang at the MMU Stadium in Cyberjaya on Saturday.
