Anwar reveals new PKR central council line-up
PETALING JAYA: Former Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli who lost in the deputy president race has been appointed PKR’s vice-president by party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Anwar, who said this was part of the party’s central leadership council (MPP) line-up, also announced the appointment of Tanjung Malim MP Chang Lih Kang and Saratok MP Ali Biju as vice-presidents, with Ali representing Sabah and Sarawak.
In a statement yesterday, Anwar added the new MPP line-up was a mix of leaders from across the country representing groups of various races, religions and ages, which was the core strength of PKR.
Hang Tuah Jaya MP Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin was named the party’s information chief while Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad was announced as PKR’s supervising secretary.
Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail remained secretary-general while Semambu assemblyman Lee Chean Chung was appointed PKR’s treasurer-general.
Anwar also named Segamat MP Datuk Seri Dr Edmund R. Santhara Kumar the party’s deputy secretary-general while Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Sim Tze Tzin and S. Manivanan have been appointed as PKR’s deputy information chiefs.
Nibong Tebal MP Datuk Dr Mansor Othman is now PKR’s strategic director while Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil has been appointed its communication director.
